Summer Update 2025
Wentworth NH - Hello everyone and thanks again for visiting our website. First thing, I need to apologize for not doing a good job at updating this website more often. Tonight's racing Friday August 8th has been cancelled for a few reasons, equipment, lighting and a few other things that happened earlier in the week. Just too much for me to do and get done in time. So onto a much better part of why we continue to keep going and bring you a fun and affordable grassroots hometown dirt track.
Granite State Micro Sprints racer Jamie Comeau who's family has a long of linage of racers here at the track. Well this weekend Jamie, his brother Nick, his father Sam, and grandfather Roger are out in Knoxville Iowa to attend the NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series race. This trip was a gift to Jamie from the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame which is located at the Knoxville Raceway Fairgrounds. There is an article in todays edition of the New Hampshire Union Leader written by Kevin Rice. The article came out yesterday online and has been shard on social media by many in the racing community local to the area. We are proud of being Jamie's home track. This kid is living his dream with the challenges he never dreamed of. When we first took over the track I would see Nick and Sam pick up Jamie's wheelchair and carry it up the few steps so Jamie could watch Nick race. Nick would then run to get in his car and many times go win the Wingless Sprint Car feature that night. Well I knew I had to do something better than we had. We built a ramp and changed our pit area parking to make it better for Jamie. I really did not know the family as well as I do now but knew we could do better. The Comeau family are truly part of your racing family. Example , The first day I ever worked on this property Troy and Nick Comeau showed up to help me remove the old track signage without even knowing me. Talking to them and listening to some stories while trying to get a little work done showed me what this track means to just one family.
Well now for a few other things going on this summer. Well we got some great people to step up and help us out to make Friday night racing happen and a big THANK YOU to them. A bulk of our schedule has been with Granite State Mini Sprints which has been going good with a few new race winners. Our other group is the New England Wingless Dirt Sprints which is slowly building a division with some good racing as well. Our Pro 4 class is down a couple cars but still good side by side racing and great comradery in this class. The modifieds, coupes, and midgets car count are not great at all but we love that these teams want to show up and support this track. We did add a group of FWD sport compacts and they seem to enjoy racing on the track and we will see if we can maintain a steady number of cars who enjoy it here. Next Friday night August 15 we will be bringing in some street stock racers as we remember Ray Heath who recently passed away. The Heath family is another local family who were a big part of this track over many years.
We have five weeks left on 2025 schedule and we will be making some changes to our schedule, so stay tuned to social media and info tabs here on the website. We have received many questions, request and such for other divisions and groups to race here.
Enjoy your Friday and the rest of summer 2025
