Sprint Cars of New England

Hull Hits Paydirt

Bradford , VT. Last Saturday night The Sprint Cars of New England made there final appearance of 2020 at Bear Ridge Speedway. The speedway always runs a full night of events for its finale , and puts up some good money for our series. The format was set by the speedway with each car taking time trials and then two twenty lap features. After hot laps were complete and the sprint cars were ready to line up for time trials. Their would be two cars on track at a time and Chris Donnelly set the fast time of 12.68 in his #17 Fornwalt Excavation machine. Followed by Will Hull In his #61 Dave's Plumbing and Heating ride. With Jim Lowery Jr going third in his #71 Lowery Automotive sponsored sprint car. Fast time was awarded $100 by Bear Ridge Speedway and Donnelly also got to draw the invert number for the first feature's lineup. The invert number was six. So as the first feature was set to go it was the 73 of Jake Williams on the pole along side was the 31B of Clay Dow. Williams jumped out front for the first two laps as fourth place starter Lowery worked his way by. Williams settled in for second , as Dow , Donnelly , and Hull tried to track him down. At the half way point Lowery had a good lead over the field and the race went twenty green flag laps as Jim Lowery picked up the win , followed by Jake Williams, Chris Donnelly , Will Hull, Clay Dow. Teams went to the pit area to make changes to set ups and get ready for their second twenty lap race. The full field was inverted which put the 41 Rick Stone on the pole along side of the 4 of Wade Prentice. Prentice would get the jump and lead the first few laps. On lap six the 23B of Travis Billington would get the lead and pull away. Their was a lot of action mid pack as the first race leaders were working their way through the field. By lap thirteen Will Hull had made his way to second and Floyd Billington to third. But after another great caution free twenty laps it would be the 23B of Travis Billington getting the win followed by Hull , Chris Donnelly, Floyd Billington and Scott Holcomb the top five. After the track scoring added up the points from quailifying, and feature races , it was Will Hull Picking the the overall win followed by Chris Donnelly second and Travis Billington third. Scott Holcomb and Clay Dow rounded out the top five. Sprint Cars of New England would like to thank Butch , April , and the BRS staff for doing everything they did with getting racing going in this difficult year. Giving SCoNE a track to race at and putting up some extra money. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. SCoNE has had a good season at BRS and some really good races. A little shy on cars at times but we hope to work on that and bring you race fans good sprint car racing in VT, and NH.

We still have two more races scheduled for this season , both are at RumTown Speedway and the dates are 10/10 and 10/17. Stay tuned for information on starting times, these will be afternoon races to beat the chilly October nights . Updates will be on this website , Facebook and Twitter. Please follow us , share, like, etc... It helps us attract sponsorship, first thing they want to know is " Do you have many followers and such on social media " Until the next race , Stay Safe and see you at RumTown.
